Storyline:         Pippa Dunn, adopted as a baby into a conservative, proper English family, has never comfortable in her own skin.  When she discovers that her birth parents are from the American South, she moves state-side to meet them and learns the real meaning of “nature vs. nuture” and “culture clash”.

Overview:         An adaptation of the best-selling novel by Anglo-American comedian, voice-over artist, and adoption-rights activist Alison Larkin, The English American is an uplifting comedy that will in the hearts of ‘outsiders’ everywhere.   The screenplay is currently being drafted with funding from the MEDIA programme.

Motherland

Writer:       Jane English (Streetdance Encore & Streetdance 3D).  Based on the play Motherland by Natasha Walter.

Genre:         True-life Drama

Storyline:     Thirteen-year-old Meltem’s childhood comes to a brutal end when she is imprisoned at the notorious Yarl’s Wood detention centre in this true life drama inspired by the campaign for the rights of women and children refugees in the UK.

Overview:      Based on author and broadcaster Natasha Walter’s acclaimed verbatim theatre production of the same name, Motherland is a true story told though the eyes of 13-year old Meltem Avcil and her experience of an unjust asylum system, and how she manages to find her voice and effect social change.  A treatment is currently being drafted by Jane English.
